Cillian Murphy (pronounced killy-an) is one of the most versatile and underrated actors of the century, and it took one movie—A Quiet Place: Part II—for us to realize that.

Murphy has been cast in a wide spectrum of roles, including playing a transgender woman in Breakfast on Pluto (2005), the supervillain Scarecrow in Batman Begins (2005), a doctor-turned-revolutionary in The Wind That Shakes the Barley (2006), a mentally unstable yet winsomely cranky protagonist in the West End production Love Song (2006-2007), and a man with a split personality in Peacock (2010), among many others.

But it took Murphy’s heavily bearded, dirtied up, and unkempt character in A Quiet Place: Part II for many people to finally make him trend.
