Samuel L. Jackson Reads 'Stay the F**k at Home' with Jimmy Kimmel
When adults aren’t doing what they need to be doing in times of a crisis, sometimes it’s permissible to talk to them like children. Enter: the thoughtful vocal stylings of the incomparable Samuel L. Jackson.
The actor joined Jimmy Kimmel via live stream for a quarantine message from the Jackson household, but don’t expect him to offer the same tone-deaf celebrity attempt at unification. No, Samuel L. Jackson is here with one blunt thesis statement, and he's debuting it in the form a children’s book everyone should be reading right now: Stay the F**k at Home.
The book, written by Adam Mansbach, is a follow up to the children’s book Go the F**k to Sleep, which Jackson famously read on YouTube in 2011. Mansbach reached out to Jackson with the idea for the new book amid the COVID-19 virus. Simultaneously hilarious and timely, Mansbach knew that this newest installment could only benefit from another reading from Jackson, and you have Nick Fury reading the following lines, that’s a guarantee:
Motherf**ker it’s no time to gamble, look around, you’re not at a casino. Just stay the f**k home as if your name is Trenton Quarantino. Sure, you can still see your friends. Use the motherf**king app on your phone. But unless you just ran out of groceries, please! Stay the f**k at home!
Jackson has been thriving as much as one can during his quarantine. He's been using the down time to catch up on Power, stream Tiger King with his daughter, and make Kobe beef hot dogs with grilled onions and coleslaw. But the underlying sentiment? He's doing it all at home, so follow his lead and... you know. Stay the f**k at home.
