Dr. Joven R. Cuanang is renowned as one of the country’s top neurologists and patron of the arts. He founded the Pinto Art Museum in Antipolo. In December 2019, he celebrated his 80th birthday.
In the 1980s, Cuanang became a supporter of artists in the region and earned a reputation as a patron of the Filipino artistic community. Under his wing, a group of then-unknown artists called Salingpusa flourished.
These days, Cuanang is still a practicing doctor, but since the quarantine, he opted to remain at his house for health reasons. He still accepts consultations but only does them online. To pass time, he takes photos of the sunset from his rooftop in Antipolo.
The following photos by Cuanang were taken from May to June. They are part of his Pinto Sunset Diary.
