For over 125 years, German-born brand Poggenpohl has been a pioneer in the modern home—and yes, that includes your home, even if you have or have not heard of it yet. Founded by Freidemir Poggenpohl in 1892, the brand has successfully been introducing one innovation after another—including the introduction of the kitchen island, ergonomic storage systems, high-quality finishes, and minute quirks that enhance daily life. Friedemir’s M.O. was to improve the kitchen and his brand has been doing do ever since. “We don’t just think kitchens, we design spaces for people. Poggenpohl spaces are like no other because Poggenpohl first understands how people live in order to then individually design the most personalized space. Compatible with every lifestyle,” the brand philosophy reads.

This idea was further discussed by Poggenpohl Export Sales Director Bas Mol, who was present at the launch of the Poggenpohl flagship showroom in Makati. He says, “Each kitchen has its own story and that means you can combine the kitchen, combine the design elements that make up your own kitchen. Every kitchen is unique and every kitchen is tailor-made for the customer.”

The newest offering from Poggenpohl, this collection provides a flexible solution for those who have dozens of items to keep in kitchen drawers. It’s also best suited for an open kitchen layout, so it works well in homes that have limited space. Its understated, yet smart design is a break from the solid and immovable kitchen island one would typically find planted in the center of the room, especially with its light, self-supporting legs. It comes in matte white, cerium gray, or a chrome-plated finish.

In an effort the include the male demographic, Poggenpohl partnered with Porsche for a kitchen system with a more masculine feel. While not the latest in the series, the P’7340 is accented by aluminum frames. It’s powered by Touch Control, which lets you open each drawer with a touch, leaving no room for unsightly drawer handles. It features a soft-close mechanism that allows one to quietly and conveniently close any drawers. The P’7350, which is set to arrive in the showroom soon, showcases a more streamlined and geometric design.

A big household and its kitchen deserve a fixture that will anchor the room and serve as a meeting point for all family members. The +Modo collection provides just that. Its dual-levels offer the family a venue to hide or to display and it may take up space but it also gives space back through its extendable trays and glass drawers as well.

The minimalist will instantly fall in love with the Segmento, which is fuss-free but gets the work done. Appliances are to be incorporated into the tall cabinets, making the space cohesive yet functional. It’s an easy choice for any straightforward homeowner.

A variation of the Segmento, the Segmento Y was meant to target the younger homeowners with its sleek and contemporary lines. One of its notable features is that it comes in a matte finish.
