Ever wondered how a distillery celebrates 180 years of making damn good whiskies? Well, with a rare and limited-edition single malt, of course. Founded in 1839, the Dalmore's 60 Year Old reflects the legacy of the distillery while also representing the pioneering spirit that it has.

The special bottle has been created from two twin casks, which happen to be the last casks of the Mackenzie era. Both have been "lying in repose side by side in the Scottish Highlands" all this time. The extremely rare casks were filled with spirit on June 7, 1951, and have been slowly maturing and building layers of depth and complexity since.

"Over the course of the past 180 years, The Dalmore has constantly strived for perfection, setting the standards for many other whisky makers today. The Dalmore 60 Year Old is a fitting tribute to the masterful talents of our distillers past and present, who have all helped to create an incredible body of work. For me personally, nurturing and caring for these two casks has been a true labor of love. The reunion of the two spirits has produced an unforgettable whisky that is truly greater than the sum of its parts," says master distiller Richard Paterson.

According to the company, the Single Malt Whisky is generous and full of different layers that include oloroso sherry, treacle toffee, licorice stick, Old English marmalade, Java coffee, dark bitter chocolate, and molasses, to name a few.

The Dalmore's 60 Year Old was unveiled in Scotland, and has gone on tour to Shanghai, Los Angeles, Taipei, and London. If you're keen on a bottle, better make your move now. We're sure this most coveted limited-edition is on everyone's list this season.
