Does Penis Size Matter? Apparently, Not As Much as Proportions and Grooming

Time for hard truths. Not all of them are pretty.

Long, short, skinny, thick, cut, uncut—we’re firm believers that all penises were created equal. And all penises matter. But not all of them are pretty, at least to the eyes of women.

According to a study by Dr. Norma Ruppen-Greef, women appreciate grooming a little more than other factors—like size. So unlike what cultural norms declare, bigger is not always better, not unless you know what to do with it.

“The information may help prevent the development of shame or impaired genital perceptions about penile appearance,” said Ruppen-Greeff. That should settle some fears of those who feel self-conscious watching unrealistic porn.

The study also suggests that women prefer proportionality over size and girth. That means they want to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa, not the Eiffel Tower. But don’t rule out girth just yet. No one wants a pencil dick, sad to say.

The study also found that cut is preferable to pigs-in-a-blanket, and big is only best for one-night-stands versus long-term relationships. So while she might  be into a guy who’s packing for one night, that doesn’t mean she wants to commit to it. So us average Juans still have a shot.

Long story short, women like consistency—in all things, it seems. But the study also found the most important factor of all: that the penis is attached to a good, trustworthy guy, and not a douche bag.
