Saud Beach in Ilocos Norte Is Among the Most Beautiful Beaches in the World
The infinite number of beach paradises in the Philippines are often eclipsed by the likes of Boracay and Palawan. But one beach has caught the attention of luxury U.S. travel magazine Travel + Leisure and has been named as one of the 25 most beautiful beaches in the world. Located in Ilocos Norte, the underrated Saud Beach in Pagudpud is now considered one of the world’s best.
Described as “super-mellow” by Travel + Leisure, Saud Beach is one of the northernmost beaches in the country, far from the trappings of urban living. Facing out into Bangui Bay and the West Philippine Sea, Saud Beach is just a 90-minute drive north from Laoag City, which is an 80-minute hour flight away from Metro Manila.
“Its white sand pitches gradually into the clear-as-glass water, like a real-world example of a zero-entry swimming pool,” wrote Travel + Leisure about this hidden beach in Pagudpud.
Saud Beach is one of only three beaches from Southeast Asia on the list, with the others being Railay West in Krabi, Thailand, and Bai Dang Tran in Con Dao Island, Vietnam.
