Jollibee's Newest Flagship Store Is Right in the Heart of London's Iconic West End
Jollibee continues its global expansion into the heart of iconic cultural hubs. Just a few weeks ago, we found out that Jollibee was heading to Broadway, and now the homegrown brand will be flying across the pond to launch its flagship store in the home of London theaters: West End.
“Bringing Jollibee to London’s West End is part of our continued commitment to expand in Europe and bring our delicious crispy Chickenjoy to more people around the world,” said CEO of Jollibee Group Ernesto Tanmantiong.
West End also happens to be one of London’s busiest commercial and entertainment centers and one of the most prime locations in the world. Jollibee’s newest European flagship store will be located in Leicester Square, just a stone’s throw away from Piccadilly Circus, Charing Cross, and Trafalgar Square. For future Filipino tourists, it’s also a few blocks away from Buckingham Palace.
“Globally, Jollibee Group plans to open 450 restaurants across its brands this year with the long-term goal of being one of the world’s top five restaurant operators. We know customers are excited to try new restaurants and visitors will return to key tourist destinations like central London, helping to fuel the capital’s restaurant industry,” Tanmantiong added.
Jollibee’s new stores will mostly be located in markets like the U.S.A., Europe, and China, as the brand moves toward enhancing its international presence. While its initial customers in U.K. branches were OFWs, Jollibee has pivoted its customer base as over 75 percent are now British citizens.
The now global brand plans to have at least 50 stores across Europe within the next four years and is already planning to launch its first restaurant in Spain. Over P3 billion will be pumped into Jollibee’s European growth plan, and up next for its expansion in the British Isles: Edinburgh in Scotland and Cardiff in Wales.
