Andrew Tan, chairman of Alliance Global, has been working from home during the enhanced community quarantine period. And while he’s at it, he’s taken the opportunity to spend some time in the kitchen at his Quezon City home.

His latest experiment? Chicken adobo with a secret ingredient.

In a video of chicken frying in a pan, Tan’s voice is heard describing his special dish..

“Today we are doing chicken adobo. And normally it takes two processes to do it. But this one is so special that it will require three processes. Mmmmm.” he said as the pieces of poultry sizzled in brown sauce.

A bottle of one of Tan’s Emperador products appeared in the shot.

“Fundador Light will be the best to go with it so we can have some Spanish flair,” he said, as he generously spiked the pan with the brandy. “It’s chicken adobo with Spanish flair. Wow! Mmmmmm…. It smells so good already!”

A second video showed off the finished dish in a clay pot.

“So this is how it looks. Beautiful, isn’t it?” said the taipan. “Chicken adobo cooked with Spanish brandy, Fundador. Wow!”

The group has contributed P100 million to Project Ugnayan, a collaboration of some of the nation’s largest corporations. Project Ugnayan is raising P1.5 billion to distribute grocery vouchers to poor families in Metro Manila.

Alliance Global has also donated one million liters of disinfecting alcohol to healthcare frontliners, as well as members of the police, army, and other personnel manning security checkpoints across the country.

“We need to protect our frontliners—the doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel—whose lives are at risk in protecting and treating people from the virus,” Tan said when the donation was first announced.
