Duterte Declares November 2, December 24 and 31 'Special (Working) Days'

President Rodrigo Duterte amended list of holidays for 2021, making November 2 (All Souls' Day), December 24 (Christmas Eve), and December 31 (New Year's Eve) "Special (Working) Days."
The amendments were made through Proclamation No. 1107. According to the proclamation, the new Special Working Days are aimed at encouraging economic productivity by minimizing work disruption.
Among the circumstances that led to the changes in the holidays are the state of calamity that still persists in the Philippines due to COVID-19, and the economic recession caused by the pandemic.
The proclamation takes effect immediately. Below is a copy of the proclamation published by Malacanang.
