Filipino-American Jason Tengco has been appointed as the Biden-Harris administration's White House Liaison. As White House Liaison, Tengco will provide support to the secretary, deputy secretary, and senior-level department officials on policy, operational, and other matters.

The announcement was made on Monday through a release of Biden-Harris staff appointments. "President Biden made a promise to the American people that he would assemble diverse and talented teams that look like America, and today he continues to fulfill that promise," said incoming chief of staff Chris Canning.

Previously, Tengco was the chief of staff for the Biden-Harris campaign's coalitions department and senior adviser for the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. He also served as executive director of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations, National AAPI outreach director for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, and deputy director of the White House Initiative on AAPIs.

Tengco holds a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles and a master's in public affairs from the University of California, Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy.
