The collection is a study in deconstruction.

There's no such thing as having too many jackets. The only problem is finding something new among all the basic logo-print hoodies and sweaters around. Thankfully, Nike has all of that sorted out with its new collab with Sacai. And, the collection has just dropped in the country.

Sacai's Chitose Abe takes athleisure up to another level with his experiments in deconstruction. “Often, I take the things I like from two different items of clothing and splice them together to create a whole that is bigger than the sum of its parts," explains Abe. "I express the end result as a 'hybrid.'"

The 11-piece collab is mostly women's skirts and shorts, but there are two jackets for men. The double-zip hoodie, a Nike classic, is distorted with pieces from a tracksuit and the Sunburst jacket, while the double-zip jacket is pierced with different jackets from Nike's archives.

The full collection demonstrates Abe's capacity to mix ideas. “There has to be a genuine interest or connection in order for me to create something new and unexpected," says Abe. "Another important thing is that the partnership needs to contribute exactly half the work."
