Onitsuka x Valentino Is the Unlikely Collab That We Just Can't Wait For

We're off to a good start, collab-wise.

We've seen sneakers in just about every shape, color, size in the past decade. From overly chunky ones to barely-there sock styles, the sky really is the limit when it comes to the shoe style. Right now, however, all signs point to a huge resurgence of the retro runner that Onitsuka's known for.

So, it comes as no surprise that several of the world's top brands are partnering with one of the oldest shoe companies in Japan. Last year, it was Givenchy that got the chance to create a collection with Onitsuka, and this time around, we're getting Valentino's take on the iconic Mexico 66 SD sneakers.

The limited-edition sneaker collaboration was unveiled at the Valentino's recent menswear collection in Paris, and it features the sneaker in four different bright shades. The partnership is quite literal with Valentino's V logo hand-painted atop the Onitsuka Tiger Stripe. There's also a co-branded logo on the tongue of the shoe, as well as inside on the insole.

Onitsuka x Valentino will be available online and in select Valentino stores this summer. Sadly, we'll have to wait on more information on price, store locations, and how to get it. Until then, take a look at the first images below.
