The stop-and-go traffic scheme will require all vehicles to come to a halt until delegates have passed through.

For months, we’ve been anticipating the traffic to be caused by the 30th Southeast Asian Games, and in a few days, it will officially be here.

From November 30 to December 11, when matches and tournaments will take place, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will implement its stop-and-go traffic scheme.

How does that work? It means all vehicles (cars, motorcycles, trucks, etc.) on a road that SEA Games delegates need to pass through will be ordered to stop so the delegates can pass by with ease to get to their venues and matches on time. All vehicles will be allowed to move again once the delegates have passed through the road.

For sure, this will cause stand-still traffic in many parts of Manila, but let’s give the SEA Games people a helping hand and cooperate with the traffic scheme. If you’ve been following the viral posts on social media about the SEA Games, you know how shitty things have gotten for Southeast Asia’s top-tier athletes.
